Since 1954 when the Baptist Home of South Jersey, now Riverview Estates opened it’s doors, over 825 men and women have made their home here. We are a ministry. The service we provide to the spirit of our residents is primary. We work together to help keep every resident as healthy and independent as possible. As a faith based community we are very thankful to God for the many people who have given time, energy and money over our 55 years of history.
As we continue to work toward creating a high quality of life for our residents, our anniversary project will be to replace all the aging windows in the nursing unit. The current windows are the original windows that were
installed when the addition was constructed in 1972. We are estimating the cost of the windows to be $55,000. The replacements will make our residents more comfortable as well as help us to make our building more energy efficient for our planet.
Although a favorite pastime is watching sailboats launch from the nearby yacht club, idle moments are rare. Residents can enjoy a full schedule of group activities; from field trips, parties, and concerts to pursuing their own individual interests, such as painting, plant gardening or crafts. Riverview Estates provides ample space for all of these activities.
A hair care salon, ice cream parlor, library, activities room and gift shop are all part of the ambiance that makes Riverview Estates an active and fun place to live. Many residents participate in the Scrabble and pinochle clubs.
Our latest addition is the computer lab, where residents can have full use of the equipment to send and receive e-mail, write letters or play games with regularly scheduled classes for those who wish to learn more about the way things are done today.
Volunteer with us!
Riverview Estates offers many opportunities to give of your time in order to uplift the lives and the spirits of our beautiful residents. Volunteers are interviewed, oriented, and trained for the jobs that appeal to their talents. Riverview Estates values and recognizes the efforts that are made by our volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist in many departments within the facility. Take a look at our current needs, then call Volunteer Services at 856-829-2274 ext 51 for information.
