The Jewish Home Assisted Living, Kaplen Family Senior Residence offers an elegant community which promotes resident dignity and well-being in a home-like environment atmosphere. The Kaplen Family Senior Residence joins the “The Jewish Home Family” in helping to deliver a continuum of care of our seniors. This is a tradition of over 90 years of caring for our elderly with services ranging from kosher meals-on-wheels, Adult Medical Day Care, sub-acute and rehabilitative services, long term nursing care and now Assisted Living.

The Jewish Home Assisted Living is the first kosher community in Bergen County, located in suburban River Vale and only minutes away from the center of Westwood. Our luxurious two story community sits on 5½ acres with beautifully landscaped areas.

We offer a choice between studio, one and two bedroom apartments in our General Assisted Living and 24 apartments are available in “Memory Lane”, a secured unit for those with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.

Our community reflects traditional Judaic values with kosher meals (elegant dining) and Shabbat and holiday services are offered. Jewish Home Assisted Living is a non-sectarian community to all seniors regardless of race, religion or national origin. Our residents enjoy a range of amenities utilizing a gym, library, Internet Café, theatre, and outdoor patio.

JHAL has a Wellness Center onsite which is staffed with professional nurses and caregiver 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to make sure you or your loved ones needs are met at all times. All areas of our community are handicapped accessible. We offer transportation for doctor appointments, local shopping and other events in the community 7 days a week.

Jewish Home Assisted Living is the first premier Glatt-kosher assisted living facility in Bergen County. We offer a home-like environment in our general assisted living and also our specialized wing for those with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia-like disorders. Our residents have a choice to rent, on a monthly basis, one of three different types of spacious apartments ranging from studios, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments.

As part of its basic package residents will receive:

Unfurnished suite with handicapped-accessible kitchenette and bathroom, carpeting, window shades, and individually controlled air conditioning and heating units.
Licensed nurse and caregiving staff on site 24 hours per day / 7 days per week.
Ordering, supervision and storage of medications
Medication administered by licensed nurses.
