The New Jersey Firemen's Home was established in 1898 through the generosity of the Lathrop Family and by act of the New Jersey State Legislature to care for the aged, indigent and disabled firefighters of New Jersey.

We are licensed and regularly inspected by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Service to operate as a long-term care facility and residential healthcare facility.

The Home is governed by a twenty-three member Board of Managers in conjunction with a full time Administrator/Superintendent.

Our guest receive the best of care by our licensed and certified nursing staff, certified social worker, certified activity director, certified dietary manager and licensed dietician. Our Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments ensure that our guests enjoy a safe and clean environment.

Our nursing units are staffed twenty-four hours / seven days a week; the Home's physician makes rounds five days a week and is on call twenty-four hours a day.
